According to foreign media, 22-year-old daughter of Musk, Vivian Wilson, recently became the face of Spanish fashion brand Desigual's Fall 2026 collection. In an advertisement with the theme "Born Rebel," she humorously challenged AI.
The DESI 84 robot appearing in the ad was modeled after Tesla's humanoid robot. Vivian gave the robot a series of absurd and out-of-scope commands: using it as a golf ball stand, attaching a leash to walk it like a pet, ordering it to mow the lawn, and even staging a scene of interaction in bed. After being bombarded with multiple tasks, the robot collapsed, lost control, and crashed into the wall, ultimately shutting down completely.
Interestingly, this robot was not a real machine but was performed by an actor wearing special equipment and then digitally synthesized. The director team also joked that while the world is worried about AI taking away jobs, they instead took the job from the robot.
Through this advertising collaboration, Vivian expressed her core concerns about AI. She stated that AI is impacting the field of fashion creativity, taking away many creators' job opportunities and also causing environmental burdens. In her view, the essence of art is the expression of human emotions, while content generated by AI is just a combination and reorganization of existing materials, lacking true creative soul.
Vivian's original name is Xavier Musk. She has long been estranged from Musk and, after transitioning, chose to abandon the Musk family name and use her mother's surname. However, in this interview, she did not focus much on family conflicts, but rather on her fashion philosophy, and also called on the public to reduce excessive consumption, to renovate old clothes, and to explore their own aesthetics.
