Doubao, ByteDance's AI assistant, launched a new round of free benefits on October 30, offering both new and existing users check-in credits and new-user subscription benefits. New users can log in to the Doubao desktop app to claim a 30-day free trial package and experience paid-subscription-level capabilities.
Regarding quota rules, Doubao recently updated the credit display and usage rules for subscription benefits. The Standard, Enhanced, and Premium tiers now correspond to 2,100, 5,600, and 14,000 credits available every 7 days, respectively, making the resource allocation for different tiers clearer and more transparent.
For all users, Doubao has opened a daily check-in channel. Users can claim 200 credits each day, with credits doubled on Mondays; when cumulative credits reach the three milestones of 500, 2,000, and 5,000, users can receive additional rewards of 200, 500, and 1,300 credits, respectively. Checking in for 30 cumulative days can earn up to 8,800 credits. Completing more experience tasks can earn additional credits.
To participate, open the Doubao desktop app or Doubao Work desktop app, then either use the pop-up reminder in the lower-left corner or click your avatar to open the sidebar and select "Use Doubao for Free" to enter the event page. Complete check-ins and tasks to claim rewards. The event covers desktop and office clients and has a permanent entry point.
Official notes state that the gifted credits mentioned above are valid for 30 days. For users without paid subscriptions, gifted credits can be used for all capabilities except video generation and Pro models. Doubao says the desktop version will introduce more features and experiences in the future, continuing the industry practice of domestic AI assistants using free benefits to drive user growth and engagement.
