Today, Baidu officially announced an upgrade to Baidu AI Search and the Search AI API, further expanding AI search application scenarios and reducing the cost for developers to call these capabilities. This upgrade focuses on API services and four major AI features in the Baidu App.
In terms of pricing, the newly upgraded Search AI API is offering a promotional price as low as RMB 4.9 per 1,000 calls, aiming to lower the cost for enterprises and developers to integrate AI search capabilities.
The Baidu App upgrades center on Wenxin Assistant, AI Lens, GUI interactive scenarios, and AI interactive applications. Among them, Wenxin Assistant has shifted from traditional "one-time Q&A" to "one-time delivery," covering more than 170 application scenarios; AI Lens adds dynamic tracking and supports real-time conversations in 9 dialects; GUI interactive scenarios have expanded fivefold and connected to more than 5 billion data resources; for AI interactive applications, AI interactive dramas and related applications have been launched to further enrich the content experience.
This upgrade shows that Baidu is driving AI search to extend from an information retrieval and Q&A tool to integrated service forms such as task delivery, real-time interaction, and content consumption. At the same time, by offering API price discounts to expand developer access, it is expected to further promote the adoption of AI search capabilities in enterprise applications and third-party products.
