ByteDance's AI coding tool Trae SOLO has officially launched its China version today, introducing five new capabilities at once: Plan mode, multi-task parallelism, Sub Agent, DiffView, and context compression. The goal is to turn "writing code" into "commanding an AI army" — create a battle map before writing, run multiple threads during the process, and instantly see all changes after completion.

Plan Mode: Create a battle map before writing, shoot only after approval
The China version of Trae SOLO upgrades "AI blind writing" to "AI planning first" — developers describe their requirements in natural language, and the model automatically breaks down steps, lists file modification lists and risk points. Users can freely add, delete, or adjust the order. Only after confirmation will the AI start writing code, avoiding "one-click generation, one-click crash."
Multi-Task Parallelism: Multiple Tabs + Multiple Chats, working in parallel without interference
The new architecture supports opening N Tabs and independent Chats simultaneously, each with its own context and runtime environment. Users can switch between tasks like "front-end rework," "API testing," and "document generation" without any interference, bidding farewell to "single-threaded lag."
Sub Agent: Clone AI soldiers with one click, specialized for specific tasks
Users can create Sub Agents for tasks such as "unit testing," "SQL optimization," and "style rework." Each Agent inherits the main conversation's memory but has its own skill set and output directory, achieving "one requirement, multiple teams, parallel delivery."
DiffView: Visualize all changes on a single chart, roll back with a single click
Trae SOLO automatically aggregates all code changes generated by Agents, highlighting them by file, function, and line level. Users can batch accept, partially accept, or roll back with one click, making version control as simple as scrolling through social media.
Context Compression: Long requirement documents remain clear and precise
The new algorithm performs hierarchical summarization and retains key tokens for long conversations. Testing shows that a 300,000-word product PRD, when compressed, loses less than 2% accuracy, and remains "able to remember the first sentence" even after multiple iterations, solving the industry's common problem of "forgetting quickly" during extended conversations.
Pricing and Access
The China version of Trae SOLO is completely free, no invitation code required, and is now available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The official also revealed that the Pro version (team collaboration, private deployment) will open pre-orders in Q1 of 2026.
AIbase Comments
While overseas developers are still focusing on "AI completion," Trae has turned "AI planning - parallel processing - summarization" into a workflow, transforming a single developer into "a solo army." If the Plan mode continues to reduce planning errors, Sub Agent could become a standard feature in the next generation of IDEs.
